| GIVING TREE In 1998, with the assistance of the Cohoes Savings Foundation to cover the cost of the initial installation, the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens Center dedicated the Center’s “Giving Tree”. The Giving Tree became a featured item on the Center’s permanent list of ongoing fund raising opportunities. There are so many ways to use the Giving Tree, and at this point, it is hard to imagine one that hasn’t been used. A Leaf on the Giving Tree can be a Memorial to Someone we loved and respected who is no longer with us; or it can be a person who is an active part of our family life, our community and/or the Center who we want to give public thanks. Memorial – Testimonial – Congratulations – Thank You – only the Giving Tree does it all. One family has used the Giving Tree four times. Once they placed a Leaf as a Memorial. Once the Leaf was in support of the Center. The final two (2) were used to commemorate special events in family members lives. That amounts to $1,000 in gifts and memorials over a six-year period being donated to the Center to support its Programs and Services. The Senior Membership Community has frequently used the Giving Tree as a way to express their love for a deceased fellow Member. Some Members have Two or Three Leaves on the Tree from the time of their death, paying tribute to the effect they had on the lives of the community and their Center. Center staff members are generously represented on the Giving Tree as they use it to remember their loved ones and support the Center. A Leaf on the Giving Tree costs $250. You can pay it in one easy payment, or make an initial payment of $100 and take two years to pay in $75 per year installments. The Leaf will be engraved after the initial payment and removed if no further payment is received. We are rapidly entering into the Season of Thanksgiving and Gift Giving. Why not consider a gift that will last long after the flowers have wilted, the novelty has worn off and you are looking for something more permanent. Give a Leaf on the Giving Tree – to remember a Loved One, or say “I Love you” to someone you cherish and respect. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
